about

My first proper album. I wanted to make an r'n'b record, and I wanted it to be a speculative concept album - imagining an alternative future where me and my American ex were still together.

I was really pushing my capabilities in all directions - trying to record and produce r'n'b vocals, trying to write a set of connected but distinct songs, trying to make the beats bang. I didn't know about mastering at this point, or audio interfaces, or anything like that. I remember feeling so exhausted and frustrated at times.

I am proud of the songwriting here.
